Applying for a Caste Certificate Online in Assam
To apply for a Caste Certificate online in Assam, follow these steps:
Registration Requirement:
To access the services on Sewa Setu, citizens have to register on the ePramaan portal or connect their RTPS account with ePramaan.
Step-by-Step Process:
Visit the Sewa Setu portal Assam Click here to visit
- Move the cursor to the Services tab and click on Department-wise Services on the right side.
- Look for the Tribal Affairs (Plain) option on the left side and click on it.
- Find the “Issuance of Caste Certificate” option and click on “Apply.”
- On the next page, read the guidelines and requirements, then click on “Apply.”
- You will be redirected to a new page. Click on “Citizen” and then click on “Login/Registration.”
- You will be redirected to the ePramaan Login page.
- Select the Mobile tab on the login page.
- Enter your RTPS registered mobile number and password (used in e-Pramaan Registration).”
- If you don’t have an e-Pramaan account, register with e-Pramaan using the RTPS linked mobile number or any phone number (if not registered with RTPS) by clicking the Sign up for MeriPehchan link.
- Click on “Sign In.”
- If you wish to connect your RTPS account with Digilocker, click on “Proceed,” or skip by clicking on “Skip now.”
- On the next page, read the guidelines carefully before filling up the form.
- Fill up the form carefully and click on “Save & Next.”
- Upload the necessary documents. If you wish to upload documents from Digilocker, link your Digilocker account.
- Click on “Submit.”
- On the next page, review your application carefully and click on “Make Payment.”
- You will be redirected to the Assam EGras page. Select a payment mode and make the payment.
★ After successful payment, you will receive an Acknowledgement slip and an application number will be sent to your mobile via message.★

- Applicant’s Photo [Mandatory]
- Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate/Aadhar Card/PAN/Admit Card issued by any recognized Board) [Mandatory]
- Proof of Residence (Permanent Resident Certificate/Aadhar Card/EPIC/Land Document/Electricity Bill, Ration Card) [Mandatory]
- Caste certificate of the father [Mandatory]
- Recommendation from an authorized caste/tribe/community organization notified by the State Government [Mandatory (if father’s caste certificate is not present)]
- Any other document (Voter List, Affidavit, Existing Caste Certificate, etc.) [Optional]
